Well, first off I need to point out that NO turkey was cooked in our house yesterday!!  So not one of us cats were blessed with giblets!!! I think it is in our contract that we are to be supplied giblets on holidays that involve turkey. You can bet the NADF (National Association of Domestic Felines) is going to hear about it!! I hate to resort to legal action, but us cats must take a stand!

Today is known as Black Friday, I thought it was because we didn’t get giblets, but upon researching it a little farther I discovered that it’s when all the fat over-stuffed shoppers go out and buy things!!!  They line up early and push, shove, yell and scream trying to get the best prices on gifts for Christmas.  This seems like a lot of work to me, and I, PennyCat do most of my shopping online using my MasterCat card.

OK, people pull out those charge cards and get going!!!!

Ok, the HM and HF said that it was a special day to be “thankful” for all we have, so here is our list………

We are thankful for:

1. A kitty bed in every corner, even though we choose to sleep with Mom and Dad!

2. Foam curlers – These things are great fun, you can chew them and carry them around!!

3. Big styrofoam balls – These things don’t get stuck under the refrigerator or couch and they are light enough to bat around.

4. Plastic balls with feathers – yeah baby, you can carry them in your mouth and choke on the feathers!

5. Our new kitty fountain – This thing ROCKS – now if we could just get Duster to realize it’s not a FOOT BATH!!

6. End tables- they make it possible to run from chair, to couch, to lazyboy without touching the floor!!

7. Kitty Forts – The HM Rocks at making these with polar fleece blankets, boxes and chairs and they keep us busy for hours!!

8. Our New big sister, PennyCat.  Purrrhaps she is not the nicest…..but she paved the way for us to become part of this amazing family.  We love our grandparents, our Aunts, our friends at the hotel, and our kitty sitters!!!

We are thankful for all your love!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM PENNYCAT!!

To all my friends in Blogland, I hope you have a wonderful day and that you take time to reflect on the many blessings you have received in the past year.

I am thankful for my wonderful human parents……life has not been easy taking care of me for the past seven months.  I am a handful, with the pills, and medications….the sick stomach and the constant messes.  They have been so patient and kind and I have been so grumpy and miserable.

Thank you to everyone who has kept me in their thoughts, I appreciate your well wishes.

Some people think that this blogging stuff is simple.  Just write whatever is on your mind…….I mean how hard can it possibly be?

But when you are a young kitten with a walnut size kitty brain, it can be a very taxing, exhausting job……

I am supposed to be working on my “thanksgiving post” but I’m not really sure what to say……..

Purrrhaps I’ll just hit “escape’ and “paws” for a short “cat nap”!

It seems that our attempts to help the HF and HM assemble, place and hang the new rods and curtains were not appreciated!!  Instead; our helpfulness was rewarded with incarceration!!! 

Confinement to a small plastic cell……..if you will.

So where’s our one phone call!!!!  We need to speak to our attorney!!

The big box arrived last night, when the HF came home from work.  He put it down on the kitchen floor and Duster and Shedden immediately began to check it out……….    “What’s in it Dad, huh?  Can we open it?  Is it cat food Dad, cause were hungry?

The HF, being a man of no surprises, couldn’t wait for wrapping paper or Christmas.  The eager kittens watched in anticipation, lending a paw here and there as he ripped into the package.  PennyCat hid behind the couch, watching from a distance, (“Lord, don’t let it be another kitten, PLEASE!!”)

Our kitchen is the size of a shoe box, and the HM was in the middle of fabricating one of her “mystery casseroles”.  This one involved chopped spinach and carrots. Every counter surface was covered with casserole prep. The HF began assembling a funny looking thing………. “What could it be?”  Shedden and Duster wrapped themselves around his legs full of curiosity as he worked.

He filled the “new thing” full of cold water and carefully picked it up from the counter to move it to “kitten level”.  However, it slipped from his hands…..crashing to the floor, splashing sixty four ounces of cold water on two very “FREAKED OUT” kittens and four bowls of dry cat food!!!!  The cat food went flying, the kittens raced for cover, the HM bit her lip to avoid cursing out loud and PennyCat sat behind the couch snickering to herself, “If I had thumbs this would be on You Tube!”

After a twenty-minute pick up, soak up and reassemble…….we tried it again!!

“What the heck is this thing?”

“Dad, what are you pouring in there?  Can I help?”

“Hey, is this cool or what?  It’s a kitty fountain!!!”

Shedden figured it out within minutes of plugging it in!!!  Duster….well he thinks it’s a paw bath for soaking his big kitty feet.  PennyCat, she says its “freakin scary” and it makes her wanna Pee!!

Oh, and the casserole was awesome!!!
