Snackball Applications 101 by Dillon
The science of Snackball logistics is complicated……especially if you are not even e a year old. In our house we have two orange plastic snackballs. Our human parents fill them with kitty treats that we all can enjoy. This of course is difficult, because I can’t eat anything with grain or chicken, and my fat brother, Duster is supposed to be eating low-cal.
While humans probably think that you just smack the snackball around at random and the food comes out, there really is an art and science in getting the snacks out of the ball in a timely efficient manner. I will attempt to properly convey some of my snackball applications, using layman’s terms so even the most uneducated human can grasp the concept.
First, I recommend you position your snackball on a carpeted surface. This allows for a more controlled roll and also limits the amount of snack “spray” when snacks are released. A carpeted surface also makes it easier to eat the snacks, as they don’t slide around as much (in addition the humans love it when they step on snack remnants and crush them into the rug fibers).
Positioning is crucial!! Always position yourself between the snackball and the bare floor, or anything that may impede proper “rollage”. Never leave a full snackball unattended and always leave an empty snackball in full view of human parents.
Always use a full paw swing – contacting the side of the snackball fully. Here I demonstrate by using the basic “right paw stroke”. I often times combine a right paw stroke with a left paw jab, this however, is not a recommended move for the novice snackballer, as it may result in snack waste from improper snack spreading. I of course am ambipawperous and have the ability to successfully purrrform this move with ease.
Here I demonstrate one of my signature moves to my older “less agile” brother, Duster. (Notice the look of awe and envy on his face)
“Come on now, you can do this move. Just watch me closely and I’ll show you how it’s done.”
Ok, despite my attempts to teach my brother Duster some of my fancier snackball moves, he still prefurrs to lay on his side and randomly swing his fat lazy paw around any old way! Oh well, you know what they say “Different strokes………..
