MacGrudder adjusted his holster and fiddled with his vest as Puss approached. Puss nodded her head to say hello and he motioned her to a closed door to the warehouse on the left. She entered the warehouse and he led her to a back inside room where four other cats were waiting.
She recognized Flick Flannigan, and MacGrudder introduced her to Tabby Tagliovento, Savannah Sal and Cal Catalonni. They were all MacGrudder’s age or a little younger, and most of them knew her father. They were seasoned cops and knew the drill. MacGrudder had already filled them in on the details and he briefed Puss on the plan.
Puss, MacGrudder and Flick and would be on the northside of the dock and Tab, Sal and Cal would take the other. They would wait until the tuna had been unloaded and the money exchanged paws. Once the deal had gone down they would call for reinforcements and then move in. They anticipated that the hired help would be unarmed and flea. The real threat would come from the main players making the exchange.
